India to Boost Production, Export of Military Equipment in Coming Years: MoD

BANGALORE (Sputnik) – India intends to increase its production and export of military equipment in the coming years, Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said on Monday.

Singh said at the annual Aero India aviation fair that within the financial year 2024-2025, which ends in March, the volume of domestic defence production in India will have overcome $14 billion, while its defence exports will have overcome a record of $2 billion.
India is committed to increasing the numbers significantly in the upcoming years, Singh stated.
The Indian Ministry of Defence intends to discuss joint military production with other countries and hopes to sign billions worth of defence contracts during Aero India this week, according to an earlier separate statement.
The ministry stated that participation of over 150 foreign companies, as well as visits of defence ministers or representatives from about 30 states is expected within the event.
The Aerospace Exhibition AeroIndia 2025 is taking place at the Yelahanka Air Force Station in the city of Bangalore from Monday to Friday.
