The participants will discuss key issues and prospects for the development of the new materials and chemical industries, the most important innovative directions and investment-attractive projects.
Major Russian corporations, high-tech enterprises and scientific organisations will showcase cutting-edge developments at the exhibition.
Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov, co-chair of the forum’s organising committee, said discussions would centre around technological and scientific priorities for industry, investment in current projects and production expansion, workforce development, regulatory improvements and other critical issues.
The forum is "focused on discussing and developing solutions for ensuring the innovative growth of the new materials and chemical industries," Manturov added, and will bring together suppliers, manufacturers, experts and scientists.
Guests include Andrey Fursenko, assistant to Russian President Vladimir Putin, Anton Shalaev, head of the Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology (Rosstandart), Anatoly Garbuzov, head of the Moscow Department of Investment and Industrial Policy and Alexander Mizhuga, first deputy chairman of the State Duma's science and higher education committee.
"For the development of key sectors of the economy, effective dialogue between science, business and government is essential," said Dmitry Chernyshenko, deputy PM for tourism, sport, culture and communications.

He noted that for the past three years, the forum has spotlighted ground-breaking projects focused on advancing Russia’s technological leadership, one of President Putin's key goals.

Discussions will feature leading Russian chemists and materials sciencists. Major Russian corporations will present their developments and hold seminars on the most promising areas for the development of science and innovation.
"Technological sovereignty—the national goal of the Russian Federation—can only be achieved by an innovative economy, where there is a constant process of developing and implementing breakthrough technologies across all industries," said presidential advisor Anton Kobyakov, who is also the organising committee secretary.
Scientists and experts will discuss mechanisms for supporting the new materials industry, which will ultimately help sustain the innovative growth of the entire economy and stimulate domestic consumption of high-tech products, he added.
