The Russian Embassy in India, in partnership with the Confederation of Indian Cyclists, organized a commemorative cycle rally in the capital to mark the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War (1941–1945) and the 78th anniversary of India-Russia diplomatic ties.
Russian Ambassador Denis Alipov, who also joined the ride, called the rally a "moment of reflection and celebration."

"We dedicate today's morning bicycle ride to the 80th anniversary of the victory in the World War II in the great patriotic war that the former Soviet Union, the peoples of the former Soviet Union, fought against the Nazis in the middle of the last century," Alipov said.
