Russia, Afghanistan Discuss Trade in National Currencies - Afghan Minister

Moscow and Kabul are discussing the possibility of trade in national currencies, but the talks are at an early stage, Afghan acting minister of commerce and industry, Nooruddin Azizi, told RIA Novosti.

"Our experts discuss the issue of trade in national currencies. We will try to make progress on this issue ... It is still only at the level of discussion, plans in this regard have not been finalized yet," Azizi said.
Afghanistan is determined to increase trade with Russia, which previously amounted to $300 million, the minister said. At the same time, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk said that trade between the two countries reached $323 million in 2024.
