Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov previously said that the Russian delegation was ready to present the Ukrainian side with a memorandum on the settlement during the second round of talks in Istanbul on June 2. A source previously told Sputnik that the Russian delegation had departed for Istanbul for talks. At the same time, a source in the Turkish Foreign Ministry told the agency that a meeting of the delegations of the Russian Federation and Ukraine was planned for Monday in the Ciragan Palace in Istanbul.
"[Russian] President [Vladimir] Putin said that during this round the Russian side will propose its memorandum, which will also reflect issues related to the conditions of a possible truce," Rudenko said on the sidelines of the conference "Russia and China: Cooperation in a New Era" in Beijing.
He noted that "not only will these things be included in this document, but nevertheless it will become the basis for negotiations."
"And we hope that the Ukrainian side will take this seriously," the deputy minister said.
