On June 9, the first group of Russian servicemen under the age of 25 returned from territory controlled by Kyiv, the Russian Defence Ministry announced.
"On 9 June, in accordance with Russian-Ukrainian agreements reached on 2 June in Istanbul, the first group of Russian servicemen under the age of 25 was returned from the territory controlled by the Kiev regime," the ministry said in a statement.
The Russian servicepeople are now on the territory of Belarus, where they are receiving the necessary assistance, that statement read.
"A similar number of AFU prisoners of war were returned as a result of the exchange," the ministry added.
In return, Russia transferred the same number of prisoners of war to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
