“We must ensure a gradual transition to our own orbital station by 2030, module by module. It will become the world’s first drone platform equipped with robots for maintenance. This is a patented solution developed by the Russian Federation,” Manturov said at a meeting of the council for strategic development and national projects.
Earlier, Vladimir Solovyov, the chief designer for manned space systems, revealed that the Russian Orbital Station could serve as a “mothership” for unmanned vehicles, which would be used for conducting various experiments.
