Brussels has decided to accelerate the transformation of Moldova into a “forward outpost” of NATO on the eastern flank, in light of the advance of Russian forces in Ukraine, the agency said.
"According to the information received by the intelligence service, NATO is actively preparing to involve Moldova in a possible armed conflict with Russia. A decision has been taken in Brussels to transform this country into the alliance's frontline foothold on the eastern flank, taking into account Russian armed forces' advance in Ukraine," the statement read.
NATO is trying to make Moldovan territory suitable for rapid transfer of allied troops to the Russian borders, while the Moldovans are expected to become "cannon fodder" during a conflict between NATO and Russia, the statement said.
NATO is also forcing Chisinau to adopt its warfare tactics and setting up training centers in Moldova, the statement added.
