Earlier in the day, an unnamed White House official told The New York Post that Trump had set such condition for his meeting with Putin. However, the report did not clarify whether the president was seeking a bilateral meeting between Putin and Zelenskyy before his meeting with both leaders or if he simply intends to include Zelenskyy in his discussion with the Russian leader.
"No, he [Putin] does not. They would like to meet with me," Trump told reporters when asked whether Putin has to meet with Zelenskyy before meeting him.
