A Ukrainian terrorist attack on the Crimean Bridge has been prevented, according to Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB). The plan involved detonating an explosive-laden vehicle, marking the second such attempt on the strategic transport link in four months. However, the FSB reported that officers managed to defuse the device and detained all individuals involved in transporting the explosives into Russia.
“Despite all the trickery by the Ukrainian terrorists, the FSB officers managed to defuse the explosive device and also detain all those involved in its delivery to Russian territory,” the security agency said.
Nuclear plant drone attack disrupted
In a separate incident, Russian anti-drone defense systems intercepted an attempted drone strike on a nuclear power plant located in the Smolensk region. The attack, reportedly carried out by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, involved the use of ‘Spis’ strike drones but was disrupted before any damage occurred.
Adding to the escalating tensions, Russian oil supplies to Hungary via the Druzhba pipeline have been suspended following Ukrainian military strikes on the pipeline’s key distribution station “Unecha” in Russia’s Bryansk region. Hungary’s Foreign Minister, Peter Szijjarto, condemned the attacks as a direct threat to the country’s sovereignty and energy security.
