According to the minister, during a meeting in Moscow on Thursday, President Putin shared his views on the ongoing situation.
"I think it was visible that in Alaska, a lot of things were talked about and some things were agreed about. So to that extent, yes, it was progress.," said Jaishankar at The Economic Times World Leaders Forum.
“It's a very complex situation there because there are military complexities, there are political complexities, there's a whole history there, it involves NATO, EU, so there are a lot of moving parts there. It's not as simple as sometimes it appears you know in the media,” he added.
Jaishankar visited Moscow on 20-21 August, where he met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov. At the conclusion of the visit, President Putin also met with the Indian EAM.
