"We would like the Eurasian Economic Union to be represented at the Group of Twenty, similar to how the European Union is represented now," Lukash said on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.
Lukash added that Russia supports a broader participation of regional associations in the work of G20, noting that such involvement would make the forum even more open.
The EAEU consists of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia. Cuba, Iran, Moldova, and Uzbekistan are observer states. The EAEU's founding treaty was signed in 2014. Its main objective is to ensure free movement of goods, services and labor within the bloc.
