Russia Ready to Power Indonesia’s Nuclear Leap: Putin

Russian President Vladimir Putin highlighted plans to deepen Russia–Indonesia relations.

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto invited President Vladimir Putin to visit Indonesia in 2026–2027, an invitation the President gladly accepted.
President Putin emphasized strong cooperation across several key sectors and highlighted the excellent relationship between Russia and Indonesia in the energy domain, including nuclear power development.

“If Jakarta considers it appropriate, Russia is ready to contribute to the development of Indonesia’s nuclear energy capabilities,” President Putin said.

Along with stressing efforts to make Russia - Indonesia military-technical cooperation more reliable and robust, President Putin also conveyed his personal condolences to the Indonesian president over the recent flood disaster.
Prabowo Subianto last paid an official visit to Russia in June 2025, where President Putin welcomed him in St. Petersburg.
