No one should get excited about the pressure of US President Donald Trump on Europe and Ukraine, negotiations on a Ukrainian settlement are continuing, and there is still a long way ahead, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said.

"We have said this more than once, that we should not fall into an enthusiastic perception of what is happening: that US President Donald Trump has 'put in place' the Europeans, Volodymyr Zelensky, and demands that they comply ... It is all good if we want to achieve peace in Ukraine, but we are not there yet. Negotiations are continuing, the second round took place in Abu Dhabi, and there is still a long way to go," Lavrov said in an interview with the NTV broadcaster.

The closed-door working group discussions, involving representatives from Russia, Ukraine, and the U.S., took place last week, following the first round held on January 23-24. According to Dmitry Peskov, spokesperson for the Russian president, the next round of negotiations on the Ukrainian crisis will occur soon.
