The outcome of Nepal's elections is seen as crucial for maintaining diplomatic, cultural, and financial ties between Nepal, India, and China, as well as for ensuring regional political stability, Ranjeet Tamang, a candidate from the Nepali Communist Party, told Sputnik India.
Tamang highlighted that Nepal’s political stability directly affects India, China, and the wider South Asian region.
He also raised concerns about external influence on recent youth protests, emphasizing the importance of local leadership in safeguarding Nepal’s sovereignty and regional relations.

"There were attempts by certain Western organizations to influence youth activism, exploiting grievances for political purposes," he said. "This underlines the importance of local leadership that prioritizes Nepal’s sovereignty and addresses domestic issues rather than outside agendas."

Tamang further criticized KP Sharma Oli’s tenure, citing repeated political crises, strained relations with India, dissolution of parliament, and unfulfilled promises in infrastructure, education, and healthcare.
Tamang is contesting the election in the Jhapa constituency alongside former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and former Kathmandu mayor Balen Shah.
