The Russian air defense shot down 16 Ukrainian drones over Russian regions overnight, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Wednesday.

"Over the past night, air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 16 Ukrainian fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles," the ministry said in a statement.

The statement added that 8 drones were shot down over the Crimea, 5 over the Belgorod Region, three over the Astrakhan Region.
