Ahead of the holiday season, Indian airlines have asked passengers to arrive at least 3.5 hours before departure and carry only one piece of hand luggage weighing seven kilograms.
Delhi's Airport turned into nothing less than an overcrowded fish market or a massive shopping festival with huge sales after several passengers found themselves stuck in queues amid long waiting hours, causing huge congestion and chaos.
Stuck for three to four hours, some passengers killed their time by talking to those standing in long queues for check-in, while others took to social media and sparked meme fest by posting the visuals and giving a hilarious twist to the scenario.
One Twitter user posted a picture and said that Delhi Airport is now Hotel California where one can check in at any time they like, but never leave.
Other users compared the security queues at the Airport with those seen outside "ration shops in the seventies."
