Two children including a 12-day-old newborn girl were killed and four others were seriously injured in a massive fire which erupted following a cooking gas cylinder explosion in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, officials said.According to the officials, the incident occurred in the wee hours of Sunday morning.While talking to the media about the tragic incident, Noida’s Chief Fire Officer (CFO) Pradeep Kumar Choubey said that the department got the information about the fire at 2.52 (IST).After reaching the spot, the fire department personnel not only started dousing the fire but also admitted the injured to a nearby hospital. The children died while undergoing treatment while the other injured were later taken to Safdarjung Hospital in New Delhi.The police as well as fire department are investigating the matter, however, prima facie the cause of the fire is said to be due to the leakage in the cooking gas cylinder.

Earlier this month, one person was killed after a cooking gas cylinder exploded in the Tilak Nagar area of Delhi. According to fire department officials, the incident took place at an illegal gas refilling shop.
Two children including a 12-day-old newborn girl were killed and four others were seriously injured in a massive fire which erupted following a cooking gas cylinder explosion in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, officials said.
According to the officials, the incident occurred in the wee hours of Sunday morning.
While talking to the media about the tragic incident, Noida’s Chief Fire Officer (CFO) Pradeep Kumar Choubey said that the department got the information about the fire at 2.52 (IST).
“The distance to the location from the nearest fire station was around 2.5 km. Two water tenders (fire trucks) along with fire fighters reached the spot in four minutes and found that six members of the family had got burn injuries due to the fire. Of them, a 12-year-old boy and a new-born girl, just 12 days old, died in the incident,” he added.
After reaching the spot, the fire department personnel not only started dousing the fire but also admitted the injured to a nearby hospital. The children died while undergoing treatment while the other injured were later taken to Safdarjung Hospital in New Delhi.
The police as well as fire department are investigating the matter, however, prima facie the cause of the fire is said to be due to the leakage in the cooking gas cylinder.
