INS Vikrant was built by domestic manufacturing company at the Cochin Shipyard at a cost of over $3.5 billion. The 262-meter-long ship has a displacement of 40,000 tons and will carry a total of 30 aircraft, including fighters and helicopters.
Indian Navy has achieved another milestone by undertaking a maiden night landing of Russian-made MiG-29K on the 44,000-ton indigenously produced INS Vikrant.

"Congratulations to the Indian Navy for successfully undertaking the maiden night landing trials of MiG-29K on #INSVikrant. This remarkable achievement is a testimony to the skills, perseverance and professionalism of the Vikrant crew and Naval pilots. Kudos to them," Defence Minister Rajnath Singh tweeted.
