Indian Army Chief General Manoj Pande on Monday met his Bangladeshi counterpart S M Shafiuddin Ahmed in Dhaka in a bid to boost defence ties with the neighbor.Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Manoj Pande also held formal interaction with the Principal Staff Officer (PSO) of the Armed Forces Division of Bangladesh Army.India's Army Chief is currently on a two-day visit to Bangladesh.This is the second visit by the Army Chief to Bangladesh in less than a year. Earlier in March, the Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh, in the presence of Bangladesh Army Chief Ahmed, said that New Delhi would help the country with its defence modernisation efforts and has identified defence industry cooperation with Dhaka as an emerging focus area of the bilateral partnership, including joint development and production. The High Commissioner also said that India extended the Defence Line of Credit worth USD 500 million to the Bangladeshi government and urged the defence industry on both sides to take full advantage of this arrangement.

In April, The Bangladesh Army Chief SM Shafiuddin Ahmed visited India and reviewed the passing out parade at the Officers Training Academy in the Chennai district of Tamil Nadu.
Indian Army Chief General Manoj Pande on Monday met his Bangladeshi counterpart S M Shafiuddin Ahmed in Dhaka in a bid to boost defence ties with the neighbor.
Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Manoj Pande also held formal interaction with the
Principal Staff Officer (PSO) of the Armed Forces Division of
Bangladesh Army.
India's Army Chief is currently on a two-day visit to Bangladesh.
"General Pande will be reviewing the Passing out Parade (POP) of officer cadets of the 84th Long Course at the Bangladesh Military Academy (BMA), Chattogram on Tuesday," according to the statement shared by the Indian Army.
This is the second visit by the Army Chief to Bangladesh in less than a year.
"Frequent visits by senior military leaders and bilateral cooperation events such as joint military exercises contribute to enhancing military-to-military relations between both nations," the statement further read.
