A large part of the territories of India and Russia are covered by mountains. They are difficult to cross and have so far been of little use for economic activities, despite vast potential.
The head of the Altai Republic, Oleg Khorokhordin, met with a delegation from India at the international environmental forum Eco Altai. Thread of Nature. The meeting was attended by professional ecologists and representatives of the scientific community.
The main topic was cooperation in the development of mountain areas.
The parties also agreed to cooperate in the format of the Altai-Himalayan Commonwealth. One of the next events is preparation for the 150th anniversary of the birth of the artist Nikolai Roerich.

"The meeting at the Forum was a continuation of the dialogue that we started a year ago at the Eastern Economic Forum on a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India in the Russian Federation Pawan Kapoor"

The meeting mentioned above was devoted to joint plans for cooperation in the production of biopharmaceutical products, export of tourist services and cultural exchange. In November, businessmen from India are planning to visit Gorno-Altaisk on a business mission.
