The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is gearing up for a groundbreaking leap in space exploration. S Somanath, the Chairman of ISRO, announced at an event in Ahmedabad that India plans to launch its first module of an International Space Station by 2028.This ambitious project, dubbed the 'Bharat Space Station' during the Amrit Kal, is expected to see its first module, weighing around 8 tons, launched into orbit within the next five years.In preparation for this significant undertaking, ISRO is developing a new and powerful rocket. This advanced rocket is designed to carry payloads ranging from 20 to 1,215 tons, a substantial upgrade from India's current rocket technology, which has a maximum payload capacity of 10 tons.The Indian Space Station is set to become a pivotal element in ISRO's future missions, providing a strategic platform for enhanced space exploration.Further expanding its space ambitions, ISRO is also planning to send astronauts into space as part of the International Space Station (ISS) mission. This astronaut mission is targeted for completion by 2035, marking another significant milestone in India's space journey.

"Within the next 5 years, our first module of the International Space Station will be launched into orbit," S Somanath, Chairman of ISRO, said.
