11:55 20.09.2024 (Updated: 13:31 20.09.2024) MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Israel needed artillery shells in the early days of its offensive on the Gaza Strip, but India made a political decision not to supply them, The Hundu news portal reported, citing a defence source.
"In the initial days of their Gaza offensive, they needed artillery shells, 155mm and 105mm; but we took a policy decision not to supply them. Israel itself is unable to honor its commitments," the source was quoted as saying by the news portal on Thursday.
India exports few weapons to Israel and it is "India which is dependent on Israel for defence supplies, deliveries of some have been impacted due to their own requirements following current situation," the source noted.
