More than 50% of Moscow’s industrial exports to BRICS countries in January-October 2024 were directed to China and India, according to Maxim Liksutov, the Moscow's Deputy Mayor for transport and industry.
Following the instructions of Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin, the city is providing systematic support to export-oriented manufacturers as they enter foreign markets, Liksutov stated. Special attention is being paid to expanding the supply of industrial products from Moscow to BRICS countries, he added.

"Today, the largest trading partners of the capital within the group are China, which accounts for more than 35% of Moscow's non-resource-based, non-energy exports, and India, to which over 15% of Moscow’s exports are directed," Department of Investment and Industrial Policy of Moscow quoted Liksutov as saying.

To boost trade with these countries, four international events have been scheduled for 2025, according to deputy mayor.
Particularly, Moscow exports aviation, chemical, and construction products to China, as well as items from instrumentation and power engineering. Chinese consumers are also keen on meat products, chocolate, groceries, wheat flour, oat flakes, and health food items.
Meanwhile, products exported to India mainly consist of instrumentation, machine engineering, and microelectronics.
Aleksei Garbuzov, Minister of the Moscow Government and head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy of Moscow, highlighted the role of the "Mosprom" export support centre, which helps Moscow companies with their foreign economic activities.
"Thanks to the support of the centre, Moscow manufacturers of non-resource-based, non-energy products engage in B2B and B2G negotiations with potential buyers of Moscow-made products abroad, particularly in BRICS countries," Garbuzov emphasised.
State support is also actively helping Moscow's exporters. The national project International Cooperation and Export offers a comprehensive set of measures for information, financial, insurance, and logistical support. Within this framework, the digital platform My Export provides assistance to entrepreneurs. It offers free expert consultations, analytics, help in promoting goods on international marketplaces, as well as online training and much more.
