India is ramping up its air defence capabilities with a suite of advanced, lethal systems designed to counter a wide range of aerial threats, from drones to ballistic missiles, ensuring its skies remain secure.
AKASH-NG: A cutting-edge, homegrown system, boasting Mach 2.5 speed and an 80 km range. Powered by AI, it effectively targets and intercepts swarming drones with precision.
S-400 TRIUMF: Russia’s top-tier defence system, stationed along India’s borders, with a 400 km kill range. It can track over 300 targets simultaneously, neutralising stealth jets, missiles, and drones with ease.
IGLA-S: A man-portable, "fire-and-forget" missile system with a 5 km range, designed to take down low-flying drones and helicopters swiftly and efficiently.
SAMAR: A cost-effective, short-range solution that repurposes Russian R-27 missiles, providing quick response and lethal power against fast-moving aerial threats.
2K22 TUNGUSKA: A versatile weapon combining a 30mm autocannon and surface-to-air missiles, perfect for destroying both air and ground targets, including tanks.
These systems make India’s airspace highly secure and send a clear message to potential adversaries.
