WASHINGTON (Sputnik) - The meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin has been tentatively scheduled for the end of next week, Fox News reported on Friday, citing a source familiar with the planning.
At the same time, the venue of the meeting has not been determined, with Hungary, Switzerland, Rome, and the United Arab Emirates being on the list of possible locations, the source said, adding that Turkey was discussed but is unlikely to host the meeting.
Fox News also reported, citing two sources familiar with the matter, that Putin and Trump may hold a meeting on August 11.
On Wednesday, Putin received US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff in Moscow. During the meeting, they exchanged opinions about the situation in Ukraine. On Thursday, Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov said that Moscow and Washington had begun work to prepare for the upcoming Russia-US summit. Putin said that the UAE is one of the suitable places for his meeting with Trump.
