China Successfully Launches 2nd Algerian Earth-Observing Satellite Into Orbit: Reports
China has successfully launched a second Algerian Earth-observing satellite into orbit using a Long March 2C rocket for the second time in a month, the Science and Technology Daily (Keji Ribao) newspaper reported on Saturday.
On January 15, the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC) announced the successful orbital insertion of the 3A remote sensing satellite.
At 12:01 p.m. local time (04:01 GMT), China Great Wall Industry Corporation lofted the Algerian Remote Sensing Satellite-3B from Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center aboard a Long March 2C rocket, Keji Ribao reported.
According to the report, the Algerian satellite system will map national territory, support agricultural planning and assessment, and track natural disasters.
