Resuming negotiations on Ukraine is not currently a priority, but Russia welcomes the idea of returning them to Istanbul, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Saturday.
"We view the possibility of resuming negotiations [on Ukraine] in Istanbul positively. This topic, the resumption of negotiations, is not our number one priority. We have not forced negotiations on anyone. We have always assumed that if a partner is ready, then we will be there," Lavrov said at the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.
Russia is not avoiding talks on Ukraine and is ready to consider the relevant request when it is received, Lavrov added.
