German Chancellor Olaf Scholz quoted India's Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar's famous comments concerning the European mindset and its limitations on Sunday.

Speaking at the two-day Munich Security Conference that concluded at the weekend, Sholz noted that the Indian top diplomat had a point when he said that “Europe has to get out of the mindset that Europe’s problems are the world’s problems, but the world’s problems are not Europe’s problems.”

"This quote from the Indian Foreign Minister is included in this year's Munich Security Report, and he has a point. It wouldn't be Europe's problem alone if the law of the strong were to assert itself in international relations."
"We have to generally address the interests and concerns of [non-European] countries as a basic prerequisite for joint action," Sholz explained, adding that he "really wanted to work with these regions to find solutions to the main challenges they face growing poverty and hunger."
Scholz's remarks come ahead of his upcoming visit to New Delhi scheduled for 25-26 February.
