The Uttar Pradesh Police on Tuesday said it has filed a case against an unknown person after a death threat was given to State Chief Yogi Adityanath.

Media reports citing police officials said the threat was received on ‘Dial 112’, a helpline number launched by the state government for emergency services. The unidentified caller later sent a message to the social media desk of the Uttar Pradesh Police claiming, “I will kill CM Yogi soon.”

Soon after, the Operation Commander of 'Dial 112' filed a case in the police station at Sushant Golf City.
A case has been registered under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) Section 506, 507 and IT Act 66. Along with this, the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terror Squad (ATS) has also been put on alert.

Bollywood Star Salman Khan Gets Another Death Threat
The death threat to Adityanath has come days after gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf were killed in a shootout by individuals dressed as members of the press. The killing occurred as both of them were being taken for a health checkup in police custody in Prayagraj, a city in the state. Later, the state was put on high alert and security was beefed up in Prayagraj and Lucknow.

Previous Death Threats to Yogi Adityanath

It's not the first time that Adityanath has received a death threat. About a week earlier, a social media post went viral, in which a person named Aman Raza from Baghpat threatened to shoot the State Chief. However, the state police swiftly came into action and arrested the accused.
Similarly, a 16-year-old boy was held from Lucknow earlier this month for allegedly sending an email to a media house, threatening to assassinate Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Yogi Adityanath.
