Killer Heatwave Claims Lives of Nearly 170 in India

Nearly 170 people have died in India's Uttar Pradesh and Bihar states due to extreme heat, the authorities said on Monday.

The abnormal weather conditions in two of India’s most populous states has overwhelmed hospitals, filled a morgue to capacity and disrupted power supply.
According to media reports, the staff at morgues are forced to use books to cool patients as officials are investigating the climbing death toll.
