“There's nothing better than practicing yoga and following Ayurveda. These practices work on the microcellular parts of our body and if we see the modern science, there's a lot of help that we can take from that knowledge as well for our overall wellbeing,” Chawla told Sputnik.
“Yoga works at every level. If you are suffering from any disease, any injury, any ailment in the body, yoga works on the root cause of it. And to get better and make a better lifestyle, we should really work on the root cause. And there's no better practice than yoga that can heal you faster from diseases or ailments,” he added.
Treading the Yogic Path
“It has been almost 18 or 19 years since I started yoga. I began with meditation and went on to the physical aspects of yoga later in my life,” Chawla said.
“After that experience, I started practicing yoga regularly and also took up a teacher-training course. I wanted to dive deep into the yogic knowledge. I started teaching and imparting knowledge to one or two people, just with the other professional work that I was doing at that time,” Chawla said.
"I learned, I taught. And once I came back from the ashram, I decided to teach yoga full-time. And that's what I have been doing ever since,” Chawla said.
“This is one thing I would recommend to everyone: that if you really want to get better in your day-to-day lifestyle, you should practice yoga. Because what we learn on the mat is something which we carry forward off the mat,” Chawla shared.
Daily Practise is the Key
Asserting that the first sutra (formula) of yoga is ‘Ath Yog Anushasan’ (now is the time to start yoga discipline), he said: "There is no better time than now. Don't wait for that perfect moment to start your practice. We need not be flexible, we need not be strong. Just get into the practice and start practicing daily. Don't wait for that right moment.”
