Members of Muslim and other minority communities have benefitted the most from the welfare schemes of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led federal government, the Bharatiya Janata Party's minority cell national General Secretary Sufi MK Chishty claimed.
Chishty said this while addressing a public rally in Bhiwandi town in the Thane district in Maharashtra.
Highlighting the work done in the past nine years by the Modi government, the party’s minority cell national general secretary said that the maximum benefits of various welfare schemes like Housing for All, the Ayushman Bharat Scheme, Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, etc. have been enjoyed by members of the Muslim and other minority communities.
“Till 2014, only 4.5 per cent Muslims were government employees, and the figure has gone up to 10.5 per cent in the last nine years”, he stated.
He further claimed that the BJP and the Modi-led federal government does not differentiate people on the basis of caste, creed, or religion.
Reiterating that the motto of the federal government is "sabka saath sabka vikas" ("collective efforts, inclusive growth"), Chishty said that “Narendra Modi is the only prime minister who has been given maximum awards by Muslim countries”.
He also slammed Congress for not paying attention to the needs of the Muslim and minority communities, and said that it only gave assurances to people during its 50 years of governance, but did not do any work on the ground.
