At least two people lost their lives and three others were injured after a huge rock came crashing down a hill and smashed two vehicles on the Kohima-Dimapur National Highway in India's Nagaland state during a landslide triggered by heavy rains on Tuesday.
The accident took place at around 5 p.m. near a police check-post in the Chumoukedima district between the Dimapur and Kohima regions.
The video of the incident captured on a nearby vehicle's dashboard cam has surfaced on the internet, showing a massive rock slamming into two cars one after the other. Both the automobiles were crushed and suffered serious damage.
Nagaland State Chief Neiphiu Rio said that the place where the accident occurred was known as "Pakala Pahar" and was infamous for landslides and rockfalls.
He added that his administration was taking all necessary steps to provide emergency services and urgent medical help to those injured.
