India's Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will embark on a two-day visit to Malaysia to grow the strategic partnership between the two Asian nations.
Additionally, Singh - who is due to be in Malaysia on 10 and 11 July - will hold talks with his Malaysian counterpart Dato' Seri Mohamad Hasan to cement defence ties between New Delhi and Kuala Lumpur.
"The Ministers will review defence cooperation between the two countries and explore new initiatives to strengthen the engagements further. The two sides will also exchange views on regional and global issues of shared interest," a statement from the Indian Defence Ministry announced on Saturday.
Singh will also meet Malaysian Prime Minister YB Dato' Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim during his stay in the Islamic democratic nation.
The Indian Defence Minister's visit to Malaysia comes at a time when New Delhi has been trying to expand its cooperation with countries of the South-east Asian region.
Besides importing vegetable fats and oils, mineral fuels, and mineral oils from Malaysia, New Delhi's partnership with Kuala Lumpur has expanded to the defence sector.
