The number of tigers in Sariska National Park in India's Rajasthan state has reached an all-time high of 30, the highest recorded in the past three decades, after the birth of two cubs to tiger ST-19.
Rajasthan State Chief Ashok Gehlot shared a photo of a camera trap of a tigress with the newborn cubs who were captured in the buffer zone of the park near Alwar City on July 6.
“New wildlife in the forest. The good news of the birth of two cubs was received from Sariska. Now the number of tigers has increased to 30. The government is committed to the conservation of tigers, which is important for the environment,” he tweeted in Hindi.
The forest officials said that the father of these cubs is a tiger dubbed ST-18.
