Russian President Vladimir Putin has no plans to participate in-person at the G-20 Summit scheduled to take place in New Delhi on 9-10 September, the Kremlin said on Friday.

"No, the president has no such plans,' Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

“The Russian president has a very tight schedule and his priority is the special military operation in Ukraine”, the presidential spokesman stated.

Previously, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has said that it had sent out invitations to all the G-20 participants for the upcoming Summit.

“The invitations have been gone out to all the members, invitee countries and international organizations. This is a physical summit and we would hope that all the invitees will be able to participate in-person,” the MEA’s official spokesman Arindam Bagchi told a media briefing last month.

He was responding to a question if Putin had confirmed his participation at the G-20 Summit.
