At the same time, Russian anti-submarine and sabotage support forces were repelling drone attack from the sea near the Sevastopol Bay, the city's governer Mikhail Razvozhayev said early Wednesday.
Here is what we know so far about the attempted mass drone attack on Russia on Wednesday morning:
in the Pskov region, after a drone attack, a fire broke out at the airport; the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that Il-76 military transport aircraft were on fire;
in the Bryansk region, three aircraft-type drones were destroyed; two Ukrainian drones tried to attack the TV tower in Bryansk, but the attack was thwarted by air defense forces; there were no casualties or damage, the governor of the region said
in the Oryol region two drones were shot down;
in the Kaluga region, one drone was destroyed over the territory of the Sukhinichsky district, the second fell into an empty tank for oil products in the Dzerzhinsky district, the fire was quickly eliminated;
in the Ryazan region, two UAVs were destroyed within 90 minutes of each other;
in the Moscow region, one drone was destroyed in the Ruzsky district.
There were no casualties from the attacks.
Blast in Building of Investigative Committee in Bryansk
A blast has been heard inside the building of the Investigative Committee in Bryansk, the city administration said on Wednesday.
"Today, a blast took place at 6:10 a.m. at 158 Krasnoarmeyskaya Street, in the Investigation Department of the Russian Investigative Committee for the Bryansk Region. According to the information received from the radio exchange of GPS 101, there is no open fire, the windows are smashed," the administration said on Telegram.
The incident resulted in no casualties, the authorities added. The causes of the explosion were not specified.
Putin Constantly Receives Information on Drone Attack
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russian President Vladimir Putin regularly and promptly received information about massive drone attacks on the country.
"Of course, the supreme commander [President Putin] constantly and promptly receives all the information related to the situation both within the special military operation zone itself and around the operation, and, of course, with regard to such massive attacks, information is also immediately delivered to the supreme commander," Peskov told reporters.
