Commenting on the US supplies of long-range Army Tactical Missiles Systems (ATACMS) to Kiev, the official said that the United States continues to increase its direct involvement in the conflict in Ukraine, and the Russian military is increasing its skills in countering increasingly long-range missiles.

The Abrams tanks supplied to Ukraine are serious weapons, but they will also burn, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Tuesday.

There are no new weapons among new supplies by Western states to Ukraine that are capable of changing the balance of forces on the battlefield, the official said.

"And Abrams tanks are such serious weapons... Well, these tanks will burn too," Peskov told reporters.

Commenting on the US supplies of long-range Army Tactical Missiles Systems (ATACMS) to Kiev, the official said that the United States continues to increase its direct involvement in the conflict in Ukraine, and the Russian military is increasing its skills in countering increasingly long-range missiles.

On September 26 the United States has delivered the first batch of its Abrams main battle tanks to Ukraine, with more scheduled to arrive in the coming weeks, National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby said during an interview.

"This is the first tranche of the Abrams tanks," Kirby told Western media on Monday. "There will be more flowing in here in the coming weeks."

Earlier on Monday, US media reported that the first of 31 batches of Abrams tanks was delivered to Ukraine on September 23.
