Indian tennis duo Rohan Bopanna and Rutuja Bhosale achieved a great feat for their country by winning the mixed doubles gold medal at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou on Saturday.
The Indian dynamic duo defeated the Taiwan's Tsung-hao Huang and En-shuo Liang 2-6, 6-3 and 10-4.
Reacting to the big win, Bopanna said, "We had a very tough opponent. It was not easy, so we had to change a little strategy and it worked for us."
"We made sure we focus on our service games and the second set and I think after that we played some aggressive tennis right through the end. And that's what we needed to win. Winning a gold medal for the country is the best moment for us, and you can't get better than that," Bopanna said.
With this win, India has made a record of achieving one gold medal in each of the six Asian Games of the 21st century.
