India Asks Citizens in Israel to ‘Observe Safety Protocols’

A 'state of war’ was declared by Israel on Saturday after at least 5,000 rockets were fired by Hamas militants from Gaza. This is said to be the biggest attack on Israel in years.

Indian citizens living in Israel have been asked to observe safety protocols and remain vigilant amid a declared “state of war” in the country.
In a statement on Saturday, the Indian Embassy also urged the citizens to “exercise caution, avoid unnecessary movement and stay close to safety shelters."
Along with this, the embassy also shared an emergency contact number and an email id for Indian citizens so that they could contact it when needed.

The advisory came hours after Israel declared a “state of war” following an attack by Hamas militants from Gaza.
Soon after the attack, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said “we are at war, and we will win” in a video statement.
“Operation Iron Swords” has been declared by the Israeli Army against Hamas militants while the Air Force has launched an attack with dozens of fighter jets reportedly targeting the Palestinian militant outfit in the Gaza Strip.
