The Russian Ministry of Defence announced on Sunday that 27 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones had been successfully destroyed by Russian air defence systems in one night, 18 of which took place over the Kursk region of Russia.
"Tonight, an attempt by the Kiev regime to carry out a terrorist attack using fixed-wing drones against objects on the territory of the Russian Federation was thwarted. Twenty-seven Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles were intercepted by air defence systems, of which 18 over the Kursk region and two over the Belgorod region were destroyed in the air," the ministry posted on Telegram.
On Saturday, the Russian Defence Ministry announced that air defence systems had shot down 31 Ukrainian drones in the Lugansk People's Republic and the Zaporozhye, Kharkov and Kherson regions over the previous day.
"Over the past 24 hours, air defence systems destroyed 31 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles in the areas of Nyrkove in the Luhansk People's Republic, Berestove in the Kharkiv region, Verbove and Romanivske in the Zaporizhzhya region and Pishchanivka in the Kherson region," the ministry reported.
