Deposed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif returned to Pakistan on Saturday after having spent four years in self-exile for medical treatment.
His legal team, including ex-Pakistani Law Minister Senator Azam Tarar and other politicians of his party, was present at the airport.

Earlier on Saturday, former Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif claimed that his party, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), is "competent enough" to steer the country out of the prevailing crisis.
Ahead of his leaving for Pakistan, the PML-N supremo was talking to reporters at Dubai Airport, as he said: "I am returning to Pakistan after being vindicated with the grace of Almighty Allah”.

Sharif, however, did not specify whether he meant the political or economic crisis gripping Pakistan.
The PML-N head hopes to make a political comeback in the upcoming national polls, expected to be held in the last week of January next year.
He believes that his party is in a position to resolve Pakistanis' problems if elected.
Having spent the last several days in Riyadh and Dubai, Sharif arrived in Islamabad this afternoon. Thereafter, he is expected to leave for the city of Lahore. He is set to address a public rally from the Minar-e-Pakistan national monument.
