Actress' Deepfake Video Goes Viral, Public Calls For Legal Action

A deepfake video of actress Rashmika Mandanna, in which her face has been superimposed onto someone else's body, has taken the internet by storm with netizens calling for the culprit to receive strict punishment.

Actress Rashmika Mandanna reacted to her deepfake video on X and said it is terrifying not only for her but for everyone who is vulnerable to so much harm because of how technology is being misused.
Tagging cyber crime cell, the 27-year-old actress, who attained worldwide fame for playing Srivalli in 'Pushpa' movie, said that we need to address this as a community and with urgency before more of us are affected by such identity theft.

"Today, as a woman and as an actor, I am thankful for my family, friends and well-wishers who are my protection and support system. But if this happened to me when I was in school or college, I genuinely can’t imagine how could I ever tackle this," she said.

The woman featured in the original clip is Zara Patel, a well-known British-Indian influencer who shared this video on October 9th.
