An earthquake, measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale hit Nepal on Monday afternoon, making it the third quake to have hit the Himalayan country in three days.
Though the quake caused panic among local residents in Nepal, the tremors were felt in Delhi too.
The first consignment of relief material worth INR 100 million ($1.2 million) was flown to Nepalgunj by a C-130 transport aircraft of the Indian Air Force (IAF).

“Providing emergency relief assistance to earthquake affected areas of Nepal. As a first responder, India delivers medicines and relief material,” Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar posted on X (formerly known as Twitter)
Jaishankar described it as an instance of India’s “Neighbourhood First policy in action”.
