Biden's Concerns That Russia Could Attack NATO - 'Nonsense', Putin Says

Russia does not have problems with NATO countries, they are the ones who create problems artificially because they do not want a competitor such as Moscow, the Russian head of state said.

US President Joe Biden's remarks about a possible Russian attack on NATO countries are "nonsense," Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Sunday, adding that Biden himself probably understands this.

"This is nonsense. I think President Biden realizes this as well. This is just a figure of speech to justify his erroneous policy on the Russian direction," Putin told Rossiya 1 reporter Pavel Zarubin.

Russia is interested in developing relations with NATO countries and does not want to spoil these relations, at the moment Russia and these countries do not have any territorial claims against each other, Putin added.

"Russia has no reason, no interest – no geopolitical interest, no economic, political or military interest – to fight NATO countries," Putin said.

The president of any NATO country, especially the president of the US, which is the "sole host of NATO," understands this, Putin added.
