Journalists from both Russian regional and federal media outlets, as well as staff from accredited foreign media, are invited to participate in this event.
The process of collecting questions for the event started on December 1, and the People's Front call center had received over 2 million citizen inquiries through calls and messages -- this high level of public engagement underscores the significance of the event and the public's interest in Putin's address.
The 'Direct Line' with the President, a format allowing citizens to directly question and communicate with Putin, was last held in 2021. In total, Putin has participated in this format 18 times, 15 times as President and four times during his tenure as Prime Minister, dating back to 2001. This upcoming event marks a continuation of this tradition of direct communication, adapted to provide a comprehensive end-of-year review.
