NASA engineers are receiving a strange and repetitive batch of binary code from Voyager-1, launched in 1977, also the farthest man-made object from Earth.
NASA said in its weekly update that they are facing a communications glitch from Voyager 1. It takes 22 hours for them to receive a message from Voyager 1.
In its weekly blog, The Sun Spot, NASA said its engineers were trying to resolve a problem with one of the three computers on board the Voyager 1 probe.
"The NASA Voyager team is investigating a problem with Voyager 1's flight data system. The spacecraft is receiving and executing commands sent from Earth, but is not returning any usable data," NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory wrote on social media.
Voyager 1 was originally planned for a five-year mission to fly past Jupiter and Saturn, but it went on to become the first artificial satellite to cross the solar system.
