The People’s Anti-Fascist Front (PAFF) recently claimed responsibility for the Poonch terror attack on various social media platforms. They not only confessed to the attack, but also shared pictures of the US-made M4 carbine assault rifles used in the incident. Additionally, the terrorists uploaded images of the attack site itself.
It's important to note that PAFF is a proscribed terrorist organization in India and serves as a front for the notorious extremist group called Jaish-e-Mohammed*.
Meanwhile, the Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police have launched a joint search operation after the incident that took place on December 21.
The M4 carbine is a lightweight, gas-operated rifle manufactured by the US during the 1980s, which is sold to approximately 80 countries.
Earlier, Indian Army chief MM Naravane also has expressed concern regarding the increasing quantity of weapons and military equipment left behind by NATO troops during the hasty US pullout from Afghanistan.
*Jaish-e-Mohammad is designated as terrorist outfits in India and Russia.
