Indian Foreign Minister to Visit Russia From December 25-29: MEA

Indian Foreign Minister Jaishankar is set for a Russia visit from December 25-29 to discuss bilateral and international issues with Russian counterparts Lavrov and Manturov, strengthening the India-Russia strategic partnership.

Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar will visit Russia from December 25-29 to hold talks with top Russian diplomat Sergey Lavrov and Russian Trade Minister Denis Manturov, the Indian Foreign Ministry said on Sunday.
"​External Affair Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar will visit Russia on 25-29 December 2023 as a part of the ongoing high-level exchanges between the two sides. ​During this visit, EAM will meet Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia H.E. Denis Manturov to discuss matters related to economic engagement. EAM will meet his counterpart, the Foreign Minister of Russia H.E. Sergey Lavrov for discussion on bilateral, multilateral and international issues," the ministry said in a statement.
The program of Jaishankar's visit also provides for his participation in various events in Moscow and Saint Petersburg, the ministry added.
Earlier this week, media reported that the top Indian diplomat could arrive in Moscow on December 25 to hold talks with Lavrov. The two foreign ministers are expected to discuss a number of bilateral and multilateral matters and their countries' cooperation within international organizations.
Jaishankar's last visit to Russia took place on November 7, 2022, when the top Indian diplomat met with Lavrov and Manturov.
